Image of God

Wednesday 27th October 2010 In life we meet different people each and every day. They are all unique. We may have completely different beliefs and ways of thinking to them but that doesn’t make them any less or better than ourselves.  We are all made in the Image of God. We judge people so often in our lives and don’t even realise it, yet when we are looking at ourselves we refuse to accept the facts and figures. In Luke 6:41 Jesus says “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” From this text I get three things: The first is how can we even dare to look or judge someone else when our vision is blurred so much so that we cannot see clearly? Secondly it tells me to mind my own business. We always seem to find other people’s faults. If we focus on taking the plank out of our own eye so many distractions will be taken out of our lives and by the Grace of God we will be able to move forward. Lastly we have to help oursleves before we are able to help others that can sometimes be so much harder, which explains why a plank is so much bigger than sawdust. The Bible states that we should love one another; this includes those that hate us. Furthermore God is love. So no matter how different we may be to our neighbors as Christian’s (Followers of Christ) and out of the love we have in our hearts, lets show them love. We must look at ourselves before we begin to look at others. Let us surreder all of ourselves each and every day to God and Move Forward. Let’s not let anything hinder us from entering into the Kingdom of God. Together we are going along our Christian Journey. Following God and Moving Forward Though we fall, God believes in us. We’re gonna make it!
