Bereavement
We would like to inform you all of the passing of Nathan Cunningham, the brother of Bro Roy Cunningham. Nathan sadly passed away on 31st May, back home in Jamaica. Let us raise the family up in prayer, as this is the third bereavement in five months for the family. We pray for peace and comfort for the family at this difficult time.

We would like to also inform you that Sis Freda Douglas, the mother of Bro Colin Grant, sadly passed away on Thursday 2nd June, back home in Jamaica. Freda recently suffered a stroke and was unfortunately unwell for a time. Let us lift the entire family in prayer at this time of grief.

Women’s Emphasis Day – 11th June 2022

Next Sabbath 11th June the SEC Women’s Ministries Department are hosting a special Women’s Emphasis Day here at Holloway. The theme for the day is: Heroines of Faithfulness, Empowered by Purpose and we will be joined by keynote speaker Dr Nadine Collins. The colour theme is purple and white, and so you are all invited to wear purple or white on the day.

Missing person appeal
We have a message for you all in relation to a missing person. A message from a Bernice McBean from Jamaica:

Good day brethren,
I am Bernice McBean from Jamaica, desperately trying to locate Bro. Isaac Jarrett. Bro Jarrett is an SDA who resides in England. I am a friend of his and I attend Andrews SDA church here in Jamaica. I have been unable to locate him and I am increasingly concerned about his whereabouts and wellbeing. He is in his 70s or 80s and it is possible that any Jarrett from Jamaica may know him.

They are sponsored by the South England Conference and provide a confidential and professional service for children, young people, couples, individuals and families.

Business Meeting – tomorrow, 3pm
Following on from Pastor Moore’s announcement last week, all members are invited to the called Business Meeting tomorrow at 3pm, here at Holloway. The meeting is specifically in relation to our current church building and the proposed plans to redevelop it. Your input is needed at this time so it highly important that all Holloway members attend.

Virtual Food Safety and Hygiene Course
There will be an online Food Safety and Hygiene Course on Tuesday 10th May for anyone who handles, prepares, or serves food to the community. The training is a legal requirement, so if you are interested, please give your names to either Brother Wayne Barrett-McKay, Sister Cerita Hopkins, Brother Lance Hardy, or Brother Kwame Gyimah. Names must be submitted today.

Prayer and Fasting Session
This afternoon, you are all invited to a prayer and fasting sessionhere in the sanctuary from 1.20pm to 3.00pm. Family Funday – Part 2
The Family Funday which took place at Tufnel Park on Monday 18th April was a resounding success, Praise God! Local residents who attended commented on what a fun and enjoyable day they had. So much so that we have been invited to come back for another funday!

So brethren on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May from 10am, another Funday will be taking place, over at Tufnell Park playing fields. Bring your board games, your skipping ropes, badminton bats and any other fun games you can think of, for what will be another lovely day full of fun and relaxation. Toilets and children’s facilities will again be available on the day. So, remember to invite your friends too!

Core of Adventism, 7th – 14th May
From next Sabbath 7th -14th May the British Union Conference will be hosting its annual Core of Adventism evangelistic campaign here at Holloway. The theme for the programme is: We Still Believe, and will explore the true beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.

The programme starts from 11am to 4pm next Sabbath, and from 7pm to 9pm during the week. The programme, led by Evangelism Director Pastor Kirk Thomas, will take place live and in person, here at Holloway, but will also be streamed virtually for those unable to attend. We will have a number of speakers throughout the week, presenting key relevant topics. There will also be a children’s programme each evening from 7pm to 7.30pm.

Virtual Food Safety and Hygiene Course
There will be an online Food Safety and Hygiene Course for anyone who handles, prepares, or serves food to the community, on Tuesday 10th May 2022. The timing of the course will be confirmed in due course, however if you are interested, please give your names to either myself, Brother Hubert Greenaway, Sister Cerita Hopkins, Brother Lance Hardy or Brother Kwame Gyimah. Names must be submitted no later than Friday 6th May 2022.

Prayer and Fasting Session
The Prayer Ministries team will conduct the next monthly prayer and fasting session on sabbath 7th May 2022. We will meet in the sanctuary from 1.20pm to 3.00pm. You are all invited. Please come with your prayer requests and let us pray together,  interceding for each other and for the many issues we face in the world today.

 Headteacher required – Stanborough Secondary School
The British Union Conference are looking to appoint a new headteacher for Stanborough Secondary School. An online meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday 9th May, to share details of the role before the closing date of 13th May, and to also talk about the general needs for Adventist Education and the need for candidates to consider supporting our schools.

The BUC has no plans to close any of its schools, so if you are a teacher or leader in the education sector, are a member of the Adventist Church and are interested in the vacant headteacher position, please attend the online meeting on Monday 9th May from 7pm to 8pm. Hays Wood Retreat

Core of Adventism
From 7th -14th May the British Union Conference will be hosting its annual Core of Adventism evangelistic campaign. The theme for the programme is: We Still Believe, and will explore the true beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.

The programme starts from 7pm to 9pm daily, and from 11am to 4pm on Sabbaths.

Stress Awareness Month – April
Stress can be debilitating, and it can cause or aggravate health problems. Since stress is a normal part of human existence — nobody is immune to it — so it’s important to arm ourselves with knowledge so that we recognise when stress begins to cause problems in our lives.

This month of April is Stress Awareness Month, and if you feel that life’s demands are getting too much for you, please know that help is at hand. CCS Counselling Services are available to offer practical information, advice and guidance. Jesus Revealed in the Sanctuary
This is a reminder that from next Sabbath 16th to the following Sabbath 23rd April, Stoke Newington SDA Church are delivering a special weeklong programme entitled: Jesus Revealed in the Sanctuary. The programme will delve into the Sanctuary and the power that the presence of the Lord has in it. The programme, which will be delivered by Bible Teacher Pastor Mohan Rao Abbadasari, commences on Saturday 16th at 7pm, continuing throughout the week from Monday to Friday at 7pm and ends on Saturday 23rd at 11am.

A South England Conference Health and Wellbeing Extravaganza will be taking place at Stanborough Park on Sunday 1st May from 12noon to 6pm. This special afternoon programme promises to have something for all the family, including activities for adults and children, live music, delicious food and a beautiful fun atmosphere.

Children’s church 9th April

Appreciation
The family of the late Sister Joycelyn Spellen would like to sincerely thank all members for their prayers, love and support shown before, during and after her funeral which took place last Thursday 24th March. It is their prayer that each and every one of us will be richly blessed beyond measure, as we await the soon coming King.

Liberty of Conscience – Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving
This is a reminder that an evening of prayer, praise and thanksgiving, led by Pastor Brighton Kavaloh, will be taking place tomorrow (27th March 2022), from 4pm to 6pm. The evening will be hosted by Dr Brighton Kavaloh via Zoom and youtube, and is in response to answered prayers, particularly around the government’s decision to undergo consultations over the initial decision to make the COVID vaccine mandatory for NHS Health and Social Care workers.

Bereavement
This is a reminder that the funeral of the late Sis Joycelyn Spellen will take place here on Thursday 24th March at 10am. The burial will take place at 12.30pm at New Southgate Cemetery, Brunswick Park Road, N11 1EZ. Join the family at the reception at 1.30pm, at Ariana Banqueting Hall, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Rd South/Brunswick Park Road, London N11 1GN. The family will truly appreciate your presence and support, so let us please support them at this time. Let us keep the family in prayer.

Liberty of Conscience – Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving
Many of us had watched the news coverage surrounding the mandatory COVID vaccine requirement for NHS Health and Social Care workers, we are now aware that the government is currently under consultation to make a u-turn on that requirement. This is a direct answer to prayer for many, not least for professional health and social care workers. As we reflect on the past year and half of challenges and opportunities, an evening of prayer, praise and thanksgiving will be taking place on Sunday 27th March 2022 from 4pm to 6pm.

So save the date in your diary for what will be a fun packed day.

Camp Meeting
We are pleased to announce that Camp Meeting is back for 2022 with the theme ‘Let’s Cross Over’! The weeklong programme starts from Monday 30th May to Sunday 5th June and will cater to attendees both online and in-person, consisting of prayer, praise and practical workshops. It’ll also be a chance for those in attendance to rest and relax at the brand-new Hay’s Wood Retreat Centre in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

Spaces for in-person attendance are limited, so, to register your interest please take down the Eventbrite link that’s on the top right hand corner of the poster on the middle noticeboard in the foyer as soon as possible.

Bereavement
Many of us may be aware, but for those who aren’t, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sis Joycelyn Spellen. Sister Spellen, the mother of Sis Barbara Lawrence and a long standing member here at Holloway, passed away on Tuesday 22nd February. Her funeral, which is scheduled to take place here at Holloway, will be on Thursday 24th March at 10am. Further information about the day will be made available in due course, but in the meantime the family are asking for prayers during this truly difficult time.

Family Fun Day
The Social Committee is inviting all Holloway families to a special Fun Day at Tufnell Park on Bank Holiday Monday 18th April 2022, from 10am to 5pm. Bring along your ideas and equipment for fun activities for all ages. Remember to bring a packed lunch or a dish for Potluck. More information will be given over the coming weeks. So save the date in your diary for what will be a fun packed day.

Camp Meeting
We are pleased to announce that Camp Meeting is back for 2022 with the theme ‘Let’s Cross Over’! Following the onset of the pandemic, our churches being closed, and communities being torn apart, we are all invited to unite under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in crossing over to a new reality with Christ’s Good News at the forefront. The weeklong programme starts from Monday 30th May to Sunday 5th June and will cater to attendees both online and in-person, consisting of prayer, praise and practical workshops that explore how Christ is calling us to cross over today. Not only will this be an opportunity for holistic growth and development, it’ll also be a chance to rest and relax at the brand-new Hay’s Wood Retreat Centre in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

Spaces for in-person attendance are limited, so, to register your interest please take down the Eventbrite link that’s on the top right hand corner of the poster on the noticeboard as soon as possible.
